Shop till you drop

Like most scrapbookers/artist everytime I go to an arts and craft store even if its just for one thing, I have to poke around the entire store! Lots of cute things are trending now and I had to get a piece of the action. Here is some of my most recent purchases. These were definitely NEEDS hehe :)

I call this my trendy trip, gotta love Archivers! My first mustache and washi tape purchase. (I will post my project I created with the tape soon!)  Of course some pendants. I plan on using the premade pendants as templates!

This is my thrifty purchase! While roaming the aisle at Michael's, I came across this fiskars set! It  was originally $40 and was on clearance for $15. The trimmer by itself is worth it. I don't plan on opening this baby till we move!

I'm back and updating

Well hello world!

It has been a little while since I've been on here. Life has been good but very crazy :) I try and keep this an artsy/photo/ anything cool kind of blog but I know a life should be here every once in a while.

So since my last post, I went overseas to visit my boyfriend and he proposed! I came back home and continued to nanny (I love the tiny humans)! Me and the future hubby decided it was best if I stopped nannying so I could focus on school, we also decided to get married when he would be coming home in December for some R & R. So here I was starting the semester off with planning a wedding and 3 classes! I got the wonderful news once school started that I would be able to TA (teachers assistant) in the chemistry lab department (yay!). Lets fast forward a bit,I got married on 12-12-12 to the most amazing person I know, had a super holiday and had to say good bye to my new hubby to send him back overseas to finish his deployment. Ohh yeah and somewhere in the mix we (me and my mom) got a new doggy!

So here I am today: chemistry student, chemistry TA, volunteer, military wife, Michaels instructor, furry mommy and still all around artsy girl :)

I orginally had this blog for just my photography but I decided to merge my art blog with this one and have all my goodies in one place. So for some of you this is a new look to my blog, I have a super designer helping me with it and we will be updating things soon, thanks for always sticking with me, I will keep you all updated and look for some new cool things to come.

CHA approaches

I made it back safely from trip overseas! Guess what I get to come back to, tons of previews for CHA, yay!

Bella Blvd has done it again, they have some amazing collections that they are coming out with. You can check them out at there blog and there even giving away chances to win some of the collections! There's a birthday girl collection that has cupcakes, ahhh adorable, and a birthday boy so cutie!

Tim Holtz has done it again some really cool dies! Check them out HERE! I love this one, gotta try it out with chipboard!

Yeah the goodies continue!!!! My Little Shoebox has some amazing collections, I couldn't pick just one to showcase here. This is vintage shop and it has owls in it, so cute!
Lily Bee is new to me ( I know I've been out of the loop for a while), but they have some great stuff! This is my favorite so far, its Persnickety! They even have a stamp that goes with it and it has a polaroid image!

Studio Calico, wish they sold it close to me, but have some neat-o stuff! Frames that look like polaroids, a great star mask, mistables and washi tape! This is the yearbook collection :)

There are so many releases I can't post them all :) I'm seeing a trend in the polaroid icons and washi tape!!!! I think I'm gonna need a bigger craft room.
Enjoy! Happy Art Making

So I have some time to post real quick! Whenever I make cards, I always make extra that I can keep some in the card box :) here are the thank you cards I made for Christmas. I got the color inspiration from My Sketch World (: I'm really happy how they turned out, hope you enjoy them too!!!!

The cardstock is from Prism, of course my favorite. The die cut thanks is from the slice and the white sticker is from Heidi Swapp. :-)

Christmas Cards

I've seen some questions float around about what to do with your holiday cards. Put them all in a big box, throw them away, how would you scrapbook them? Well this is what I do with them :) Of course I scrapbook them. But cards can be puffy and if you have a lot take up space in your album. I got this idea from Ali Edwards, she's awesome! Your page will vary depending on how many cards you have and what you cut out from each card. Make sure you look at all your cards before you decide what to cut :) Here are my pages for last years cards. All the paper/stickers is from SEI and the tag title is from Ek Success :) I created some cards too with the scraps! Enjoy!!

Quick cards ....

It's been hectic here but lots of cool things going on. I made these cards out of some scraps I had from a layout. I love keeping the scraps out and making cards, it's great bc I get to use my stuff and have backup cards in the box :) enjoy!

Bet you didn't know....

I was recently at the dollar store and saw these :)

Who knew that they had photo paper? The little house I thought would be so cute to decorate, the roof comes off and has good clean straight edges so adding paper would be a snap, you could even use sandpaper and then have raw chipboard to mist and grunge up!

Scrap Time

I had this clock kit for a while, I purchased it at a scrapbook expo. I finally got to crack it open, I switched out the papers and embellishment, because I wanted to keep it in the scrapbook room and needed it to coordinate with our color scheme, which is pink, black and white. I can't wait to hang it up in the room. The original quote was "time flies when your having fun", well my type of fun is scrapping so I changed the words. And you know what time does fly when you scrap :)

The clock is just a general clock with a plastic clear cover. The patterned paper/cardstock is from Bazzill/Heidi Swapp, it was from event and I was at the Bazzill store and they had some extra packets. Seriously some rockin paper. I love cardstock paper with patterened, I recently explored the Bazzill website and saw the CHA catalog awesome, they came out with patterned paper, I so need it! The chipboard numbers are just covered in glitter and from Junkitz. The bird sticker is also from Heidi Swapp, I put it on top of patterened paper and cut it out.

HINT: When you do this make sure you test some of your embellishments with the clock lid on before you glue and the clock hands ;)
